Nestled in the heart of Bristol, CT, Cafe Real School Street is far more than your typical coffee shop—it’s a vibrant hub where quality, culture, and warmth come together to create an unparalleled coffee experience. Specializing as a coffee shop, cafe, coffee roaster, coffee store, wholesaler, and internet cafe, this unique spot caters not only to discerning coffee lovers but also to those seeking a cozy, inviting environment to savor exceptional flavors and unwind.

The magic begins with their expertly roasted beans, sourced directly from Colombia, delivering that authentic, rich taste that longtime coffee connoisseurs crave. Lovers of iced beverages will find irresistible options such as the Large Frappe or refreshing Small Iced Matcha Latte, each crafted to refresh and delight.

Cafe Real doesn’t stop at coffee; their menu is an enticing celebration of sweet and savory treats that perfectly complement each cup. Imagine biting into a warm, flaky Guava Pastry paired with a double latte, the sweet fruit melding seamlessly with the creamy coffee notes. Or savor the rich, indulgent harmony of Chocolate Covered Strawberries alongside a frothy cappuccino. For breakfast or lunch, the Peanut Butter Banana Waffle offers a comforting sweetness, while the savory Cubano Sandwich and Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Croissant provide hearty, satisfying options to fuel your day.

My first visit was very pleasant. I got my drinks incredibly fast, and they were very tasty. The owner is very friendly and offers great service. I was even given a complimentary pastry. The shop is clean, quiet, and tasteful. I'll definitely be coming back.

Great place, great staff, and of course, amazing coffee, waffles, and pastries! Been here a few times and plan to continue coming! I love that Bristol has such a great place! The owner is so passionate about coffee . Also love the fact that it is right from the source, all the way from Columbia! If the weather is nice check out the back patio and listen to the river flowing! So relaxing!

I am on the road all the time for work and I try out new coffee spots regularly. This has been by far my favorite. The espresso was so incredibly smooth and velvety. The owner was so incredibly kind and welcoming. Definitely one of my new favorite spots!

The coffee here is amazing and the juices are so fresh. It’s like fresh fruit slushees. I do want to be honest though, the cafe isn’t welcoming to the Spanish community. I feel as though it is more inviting to the American community. The cafe is suppose to be Colombian and they do well in using the coffee in representing the country, but not the food or the environment. It’s more like a local Starbucks then a Colombian coffee shop. The pastries were good, but they weren’t great, and they were pretty expensive for a semi warm cracker sized pandebono. They also don’t have a lot of variety in pastries or food, and if they do, by 10- they’re out. I loved the service, and the place was very clean, especially the bathroom which is a plus.

The staff are welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. We didn’t try the food (looks amazing, so next time we’ll be getting waffles) We LOVE a fresh balanced cup of coffee. We tried their Tinto (self serve drip coffees), a plain cappuccino with whole milk, and a straight double shot of espresso. The cappuccino was nutty, with hints of molasses, exactly what I look for in a quality cup. DON’T SLEEP ON THE TINTO!!! The Tinto was such an awesome bargain, we highly recommend it if you want to try the different roasts before you purchase a bag of beans to bring home. We sampled each roast, dark roast was our favorite! The espresso was flavorful with hints of cinnamon and citrus, and it was not too acidic. All in all, this place is fantastic. Ambiance: The music is at a great volume, you can jam, but still have a conversation. The place is clean, indoor and outdoor seating with umbrella covered tables. There’s Wifi, and seems like a place we could come to get an hour of work done between things in our day.

Indulge in the perfect pairing at this Colombian coffee haven: the velvety cappuccino, expertly crafted with beans sourced from their own farms in Colombia, and a melt-in-your-mouth delight of an alfajore cookie. Café Real is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Colombia’s rich coffee culture!

12.2.23 I was helped by the nicest man during my 1st time visiting this cafe. My Americano coffee was perfect, and since I love trying new things, I bought 4 Pandebono, the traditional Colombian cheese bread. It was amazing. There was street parking and several tables for indoor seating. This was a perfect stop before my hike. Thank you for the great coffee, pastries, and customer service.
